Congratulations to this year's honorees: Chris Borgatti, recipient of the Chair Woman's Award; Gail Tylec, our 2026 Democrat of the Year; Cynthia Appleton, Wyoming County Chair, honored as this year's Nurse Honoree; and Sam Farruggia, Niagara Falls Firefighters Union President, honored as this year's Labor Honoree.
Candidate Spotlight
This week we're introducing two more county legislature candidates, Doug Mooradian and Matt Kennedy.
Doug Mooradian, County Legislature District 7
Doug Mooradian
Doug's spent two decades as a trusted advisor in health care business and a fixture of local volunteer leadership- board president, fundraising chair, youth coach- work that earned him the Boys & Girls Club Volunteer of the Year award and a spot on Business First's 40 Under 40 list. He and his wife are raising their two teenage sons in Wheatfield.
Matt Kennedy, County Legislature District 8
Matt Kennedy
Matt's a lifelong North Tonawanda resident, where he lives with his wife Ally. He's spent nearly a decade on the NT Board of Education, including years as Board President, where he helped launch the district's School Resource Officer program and bring P-TECH to NT students. By day, he leads teams at a Fortune 100 tech company.

There’s lots of opportunities to meet your candidates. If you’re in Wilson, you can meet your candidates Wednesday, September 23rd, 6-7pm at Wilson House Restaurant and Inn. You can also meet Lockport’s candidates on both sides of the aisle Saturday, September 26th, 3-5pm on Canal Street in Lockport. Bring your questions and meet the people asking for your vote this November.
Can't make it? Sign up for a door knocking shift instead- Lockport, Niagara Falls, and North Tonawanda all go out every weekend.
