Meet The Candidates This Month
Campaigns are picking up speed! Catch our candidates all over the county at fundraisers, meet-and-greets, and community events leading up to our next big push: Weekend of Action, August 29-30. If you know someone who’s been meaning to get involved, now is the time! Invite them to a fundraiser, or ask them to carpool to the Weekend of Action. We’re growing a community, not just a campaign.
Meet Alissa Ellman
Each week we’ll meet a new candidate. First up is Alissa Ellman: she’s running for New York’s 24th Congressional District!
Alissa grew up in Houghton, NY, and served overseas at Bagram Airfield before she could even vote. She came home as a veteran, taught underprivileged kids, and raised her daughters in Lockport. In 2025, she was DOGEd while working for the VA, where she’d been helping veterans get their benefits. She got involved in her community and started holding town halls about how Claudia Tenney was voting. When Tenney wouldn’t answer, Alissa decided to run against her.

Save the date: Weekend of Action is August 29-30. Come meet your candidates, get fired up with a crowd of volunteers, then go knock doors together. Never knocked doors before? No problem! We’ll pair you with someone experienced and make sure you have everything you need to have a successful day canvassing. Don’t forget to bring a friend!
