Six Days Out
Weekend of Action is six days away, and this week we're introducing two more names on your ballot. Get to know Niagara County’s Assembly Candidates, then get ready to knock some doors!
Candidate Spotlight: Donna Dye Sholk and Nate McMurray, NYS Assembly Districts 144 and 145
Donna's lived her whole life in Lockport, showing up for the Dale Association, Lockport Meals on Wheels, the DeSales School Board, and as a foster parent. She spent 40+ years in business accounting and finance, most recently as controller of the Niagara Falls Olin plant, and she's walked the halls of the State House as part of an energy policy coalition. She’s using her experience to take on incumbent Paul Bologna this fall.
Nate's a North Tonawanda native, one of seven kids raised by a single mother. He worked his way up and in- constitutional rights attorney, Fulbright Scholar, and former Grand Island Town Supervisor, where he helped protect thousands of acres of land and turned a long-troubled industrial site into a thriving hotel. He's running for the 145th against Rebecca Wydysh, a former county legislature chair.
